New U16 team supported by the Football Foundation

We have been granted support by the football foundation to help our next U16 team get up and running.

With coach Dragos keen to put his ideas and recent new level 2 course to good use we are looking to get this team together before the season starts.

Epping Forest Falcons FC u16 football foundation kitWe have just been given a new Nike kit pack by the Football Foundation alongside other support to help player recruitment, coaching and the always hefty pitch hire fees to be less of a challenge.

Thank you Football Foundation and the FA for your belief and support of our club!

Any u16 players who would like to try a session at our club can contact info@effalcons.co.uk with name, parent mobile and email and player date of birth. We will then let you know when you can join in.

2017 / 2018 Kit Ordering now active

Please note that we have activated the kit ordering page for the coming season. If you are joining the club you will need to order your kit. Also if you are an existing member and want to replace a shirt or get new socks and shorts you can place your order in the same way.

You can find the page here: http://effalcons.co.uk/order-your-kit/

Please check with your manager if you are not sure what to order.

We amalgamate all member orders and place our club orders in bulk on the supplier. The next bulk order will be placed after the 23rd of July. Please place your kit order before then if you want your kit before the end of August (there is a 4-5 week delivery on Nike kits).

Our U13’s close the season by winning the May & Baker tournament!

Epping Forest falcons FC U13 win May & Baker tournament

Celebrations after winning the May & Baker tournament

After their first season as a team at our club, our U13’s did themselves proud by not only placing for the final at the May & Baker tournament but then winning the final by a convincing 4 goals to 1!

It has been great to see the players and the coaches find their way through the initial development during the season, using the double training sessions and extra activities at the club to their advantage.

Closing the season by winning a tournament is just amazing after a season of working closely with the team to help them settle and develop.

Well done to the players and the coaches!

Great to close the season on a high and have our U13’s bring a trophy to the club!

Our players will now switch age groups and become the club’s U14’s for next season, no doubt starting the season with more confidence than they started their first one…

Teams for the 2017 / 2018 season

epping forest falcons u16 v colchester united

The U16 Red squad from season 2016-2017, prior to their friendly match against Colchester United.

We are pleased to announce that we will be running the following teams for the coming season, 1 team per age group listed:

Youth Teams

  • Under 14 (for players who are not yet 14 years of age on the 31st of August 2017) – Echo league D Division
  • Under 16 (for players who are not yet 16 years of age on the 31st of August 2017) – Echo League A Division
  • Under 18 (for players who are not yet 18 years of age on the 31st of August 2017) – Echo League Division 2

Our U16 team will continue to benefit from our relationship with the Essex BGC who last season chose 5 of our players to be involved in their rep squad training and matches as well as their Manchester tour. They took 8 of our U16 players to Southend United and West Ham United for coaching and games.

Players who are interested in joining our club can contact us and request a try out session.

We are open to players who are confident and strong enough to play one year up to trial for these teams (for instance a player who is technically an U15 could trial for the U16 squad).

Senior team

We will continue to run a senior men’s team in the Essex Sunday Corinthian League. Our men’s has just finished its 2nd season with a good result and managed to reach a cup final for the first time.

We are a club that values a positive and hard working approach to both football and membership. We have been awarded fair play awards by the FA and are proud of that.

The next season will see us train on brand new artificial floodlit pitches on weeknights and play on Sundays on a newly set up pitch with a great surface.

If you understand that a club is a sum of its members and that a team works with and for each other you are welcome to request a try out session for the coming season.

You can use the feedback form (tab on this page) or the email address at the top of the page to contact us.

The Redbridge Tournament

Well done to our U16 Red team in the Redbridge tournament today. Despite missing 3 defenders, the injury that Sunil sustained and the last minute knee injury to our goalkeeper the 9 that were left gave what they could. The tournament contained only teams that were ranked higher than our lads and without subs and the need to take players out of core positions to fill the goal it was a real challenge. But they only lost one game against the hosting EJA squad and held their own against the others.

Here are the scores:

EFF U16 Reds v Barton Rovers (EJA) – 0-0

EFF U16 Reds v Shield Academy (Echo A) – 1-1

EFF U16 Red v Redbridge (EJA) – 0-1

EFF U16 Red v Ridgeway Rovers  (Echo A) – 0-0

EFF U16 Red v Maldon & Tiptree  (EJA) – 0-0

Thanks to Adam, Danny and Luke for taking a turn in goal and to Stefan for taking two turns.

Well done lads. We could see that without the bad luck in player availability we could have taken most, if not all, teams there. Very encouraging indeed!
